Did You Know: Chapters & Verses Division in the Bible
A scholar named Stephen Langton added the chapter division in AD1228. Robert Stephenus suggested the verse divisions in AD1560 (Jensen, 1969).
Verse and chapter divisions in the Bible are modern innovations, they are created to help us find passages, not to interpret them.
